What is Motivating Moves?
Wayne Upton runs Motivating Moves, a specialist physical activity mentoring programme that is designed to meet young people where they are in order to help them better engage with the world around them. If a child has special education needs and disabilities, they may require additional support away from school, and Motivating Moves can provide that. Whether this intervention is needed long or short term.
The Motivating Moves’ physical activity programmes work on a coaching and mentoring basis whereby sport or exercise is used as a vehicle to address life’s hurdles. This can be particularly effective if a young person is experiencing poor mental health such as anxiety and depression.
This can be carried out 1-2-1 or in small groups.
